We are a small independant and developing Tour Operator but we are totally focused on sustainable tourism. Scotland's environment is central to to the operation of our business; thus we are committed to the conservation and protection of our overall natural environment but expecially Scotland's own unique biodiversity and cultural heritage. As a company we REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE everything possible and fortunately the availability and ease of doing this is increasing. We will be constantly monitoring, altering and adapting our practices as more opportunities become available and feasible to help reduce our impact on the planet. The individuals involved with this company have lived, worked and travelled and explored within this remarkable country of Scotland and have been privileged to experience first hand the wonders of its history. landscape, wildlife, flora and fauna. No matter whether you are a resident in Scotland or a visitor you too can use our experiences to help you make best use of you leisure and recreational time and share in these same experiences. For the last half century and more we have lived in a rapidly changing and developing world, some of it good and some not so good but now fortunately due to world media the plight of our planet and the crisis of global warming is constantly being highlighted and slowly more people are becoming aware of their responsibilities to protect and conserve our natural world so that it may survive for as many future generations as possible to learn from and enjoy. It is tragic that the environment, wildlife, habitats have paid the price of destruction, extinction or near extinction because of man's quest for development and modern technology. The Scottish environment and its biodiversity is being used and even abused every minute of the day, by every person that walks or travels across its surface. It has to be protected in every way we can and similarly the same applies in every other country in the world, but it costs money and time to do this. We personally feel it is a good thing to give something back or something extra if it can go some way to compensating for our actions and we are committed to doing everything possible to minimise our impact on our country and our planet. We associate with and subscribe to a number of key organisations with the same aims and ethos as ourselves in order to support their work. Many of these organisations through sharing information and experience collectively contribute to and produce the codes of conduct and guidelines to best practise which are appropriate to our activities in the outdoors. Our tour guides actively promote awareness of our natural environment and Scotland's unique and rich biodiversity as we share it with you, and we will ensure that we have as minimal an impact as possible. Carbon Offsetting and Alternatives Carbon offsetting is being marketed more and more at the moment and this is not necessarily a bad thing however there are still too many grey areas as to its operation and its regulation. |
